As part of the reform in bank commissions, the Supervisor of the Banks at the Bank of Israel has created online calculators for comparing the cost of banking activity between the various banks.
Calculator for checking account activity - This calculator will assist you in comparing the cost of managing your account between the various banks, based on the profile of activity that characterizes your account. In order to use this calculator effectively, please have ready the bank statements for your checking account and the quarterly summary of the commissions charged for the account. These will give you an idea of the monthly scope of activity in the account. Enter the number of monthly transactions for each of the services listed in the calculator.
Note that the cost of each service appearing on the calculator is calculated according to the official rates of the banks. One can negotiate with the bank in order to receive a discount on commissions. In addition, there are groups that are automatically eligible for discounts, in accordance with the policy of each bank (e.g. pensioners, soldiers, students, etc).

Calculator for comparing the cost of credit card activity - This calculator will help you compare the cost of holding a credit card for each of the banks and for each of the credit card companies, based on your monthly usage of the card. In order to use the calculator effectively, prepare several monthly credit card statements ahead of time. This will you give you an idea of your average monthly purchases using the card.
