List of Holidays Observed by the
Bank of Israel in 2011
 
We set below, for your information, a list of days in 2011 apart from Saturdays, which will be observed as Bank and Public Holidays in Israel.

    20 March Sunday Feast of Purim (Tel-Aviv)
    21 March Monday Feast of Purim (Jerusalem)
    19 April Tuesday First Day of Pesach
    25 April Monday Last Day of Pesach
  * 10 May Tuesday National Independence Day
  * 8 June Wednesday Feast of Shavuot (Pentecost)
    9 August Tuesday Fast of Ninth of Av
    29 September Thursday Rosh Hashanah (New Year) 1st Day
    30 September Friday Rosh Hashanah (New Year) 2nd Day
  * 13 October Thursday First Day of Sucot (Tabernacles)
    20 October Thursday Last Day of Sucot (Tabernacles)
 
On Fridays and on the eve of holidays marked (*) as well as on intermediate days of Passover April 20 - April 24 and Tabernacles October 14 – October 19 banks are closed during the afternoon.
 
In addition, the Bank of Israel will be closed on the following days (which are working days in other banking institutions):
    18 April Monday Eve of Pesach (Passover)
    28 September Wednesday Eve of Rosh Hashanah (New-Year)
    7 October Friday Eve of Yom Kippur (day of atonement)
