List of Holidays Observed by The Bank of Israel in 2009
 
We set below, for your information, a list of days in 2009 apart from Saturdays, which will be observed as Bank and Public Holidays in Israel.
 
Public Holidays
    10th February Tuesday National Election day
    10th March Tuesday Feast of Purim (Tel-Aviv)
    11th March Wednesday Feast of Purim (Jerusalem)
    9th April Thursday First Day of Pesach
    15th April Wednesday Last Day of Pesach
  * 29th April Wednesday Israel Independence Day
  * 29th May Friday Feast of Shavuot (Pentecost)
    30th July Thursday Fast of Ninth of Ab
    28th September Monday Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement)
Updated on 22nd of January.
On Fridays and on the eve of holidays marked (*), as well as on the intermediate days of Passover (10th – 14th April) and Tabernacles (5th October – 9th October) banks are closed during the afternoon.
 
Bank of Israel Holidays
In addition, the Bank of Israel will be closed on the following days (which are working days in other banking institutions):
    8th April Wednesday Eve of Pesach (Passover)
    18th September Friday Eve of Rosh Hashanah (New Year)
